I'm a graduate student in the Department of Political Science at the University of British Columbia. A third of my coursework is split evenly between the Departments of Statistics and Mathematics. I graduated with a BSc in Physics from the University of Toronto in June 2024. I am interested in using evolution as a metaphor to develop analytic and computational models of social systems. Basically, I study how people and societies adapt institutions to solve social problems, in much the same way as animals adapt to their environments. I mainly use evolutionary game theory, differential equations, and agent-based simulations.
I'm a retro-grouch. You could probably tell that from this website. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, biking, cooking, and being a hater. Even though I changed fields, my love for Arnold's Mathematical Methods of Classical Mechanics will never die. I listen to a lot of music, here's my last.fm profile. The jobs I had in undergrad were—in no particular order—bicycle mechanic, research assistant, and math/physics tutor.
